WATER HRD RECOVERY:
In early 2023 PACSAR purchased a 2000, 16 ft Alumacraft River Boat. With a 40-horse jet Yamaha gas motor and in addition, a Minn Kota electric motor for trolling was added. This boat was purchased to train our HRD K9 teams in water recovery. We currently have five K9s in training in addition to 2 new puppies. The Water Rescue Boat will become operational when our K9s become certified in the very near future.
In addition to our Water Recovery K9 training, our boat operators must take a boating safety certification class before becoming an operational pilot. Training in boat driving is the first process after receiving the certification. Each time the boat is deployed (training or in operation) there will be 3 team members for full operation: a pilot, spotter and K9 team.
